La Piazza
50th and Kipling, Wheat Ridge
On a whim, Joni and I pulled into a new restaurant located 1/2 block west of Kiping on 50th Avenue, It is on the south side of the road, they serve Italian food and we wanted to try the pizza. We were pleased with what we found.
Since this is a newer restaurant, they don't have their liquor license, but the soft drinks are just as good as anywhere else. They also serve the usual variety of Italian foods, but we were there for the pizza. We decided on the "family size"
Country Vegetable
pizza. It came with Kalamata Olives, Artichoke Hearts, Spinach and Mushrooms. It had a very good flavor, and the sauce was nice, but what was really impressive was the crust.
If you remember, I raved about the crust at Angelo's Pizzeria in Pueblo last fall. The crust on La Piazza pizza is very similar, only smaller. It is hand-tossed, white and "semi" thin. It is not as thin as the thin crust you get with delivery pizza, but it is not as thick as other hand-tossed or pan pizzas. We think it is perfect, and it tastes so good, you could eat it alone and be happy. The only problem with the pizza and the crust is they only come in two sizes. Even though they call it "family" size, you will either need a small family or very small appetites. The pizza had eight slices averaging 7.5 inches in length. So, I'm guessing it was either a 14" or 16" pizza for $15.95. We also had a nice, anchovy-less, Caesar salad that we shared.
I have not done the full review. I do not have all the information including Health Inspection Reports. On the preliminary visit, however, I rate this pizza high. In my opinion, that was the best pizza I ever bought in the Arvada/ Wheat Ridge area without a question, and you know I have tried them all.
The Restaurant rates: Undetermined. Full review forthcoming.
The Pizza rates: A+ for restaurant, white crust pizza. (I'm calling it Angelo's North) Please, give it a try and see if you don't agree.

Maybe the restaurant used to be on the east side and I never noticed it before, but the restaurant I visited was definitely on the west side of the road on 50th about a half block from Kipling on the south side.

Stan, Isn’t this restaurant on the east side of Kipling? It has actually been there for a few years and I would agree the pizza is awesome. Their bakery goods are very tasty also.
