DiCicco's pizza is a nice surprise

I have visited this restaurant in Olde Town Arvada many times. I love the décor, the service, the marinara and the minestrone, but I never before tried the pizza. Now, I have tried the pizza and I am impressed.

DiCicco's makes "individual" size pizzas in the $11 to $14 range and offers a nice variety of choices. On a whim, we enjoyed a bottle of Chianti, a bowl of minestrone and tried the pizza for the first time. In fact, we ordered two just to sample a variety.

The first pizza was the "Oli Olio", which, as the name indicates, is garlic and olive oil, but there is more. On top of the garlic and oil were tomatoes, kalamata olives and fresh basil for a nice, Mediterranean or Greek touch. The other pizza was a classic vegetarian with black olives, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. It also featured DiCicco's nice marinara and a layer of cheese.

Originally, I thought the pizzas at 10 inches would be too small to satisfy, but I was wrong. With the wine and the soup, it was a nice, ample dinner without feeling either stuffed or still hungry. I liked the flavor, texture, and thickness of the crust. It was not too thin, but it was not too thick either. Everything had a good, fresh taste and was very enjoyable. Most people will enjoy this pizza in at least one of the many varieties offered.

As always, the service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing and the restaurant was clean, neat and comfortable. DiCicco's always has been a nice value in the Arvada area and now that I have discovered their pizza, I may be stopping in more often. Please, give the pizza a try and let me know if you do not agree.
