It sounds that way to me. I've spent most of the day calling 1-800-877-9777 to trying to resolve whether or not my wife's primary care physician can refer her to her current Oncologist even though they are not in the same group.
Our primary care physician is in PPP and her Oncologist is in ECS. Pacificare claims department says that my primary care physician can refer my wife to her current Oncologist. However, I have spoken with the office manager at my clinic and she and one of the doctors who has been there for a long time both believe that the Pacificare representative made it very clear that they will be negative impacted financially if they refer patients to doctors out side of PPP.
It seems to me that somebody is not telling the whole truth and I'm inclined to not trust Pacificare.
Make your own decisions but make sure that you check them out thoroughly with your health providers.
They are going to be having some meetings in the next month.
Tuesday, April 8 3:30 to 5:30 PM Moore Middle School, Arvada
Thursday, April 10 3:30 to 5:30 PM Dakota Ridge High School Littleton
Tuesday, April 15 3:30 to 5:30 PM O'Connell Middle School, WheatRidge
Thursday, April 17 3:30 to 5:30 PM Everitt Middle School, WheatRidge
Thursday, April 24 3:30 to 5:30 PM 809 Quail Building 1, Lakewood
Thursday, April 24 1:00 to 3:00 PM Ed Center, Board Room, Golden
I'll see you there unless they refuse me admission to these meetings. I want a straight answer for my question. I'm not saying that they are lying but someone is getting misinformation. However, they aren't the most trustworthy source of information in the world. Just do a google search on "pacificare and lying". Make your own decision.
