CCU's Brian Stamer named RMAC Player of the Week


January 29, 2007-CCU's 6-7 junior forward Brian Stamer has been named the RMAC men's basketball week 11 east division player of the week.

Stamer did a little bit of everything this past weekend, leading the Cougars to a split, as they fell to UCCS 80-93 and defeated Regis University 61-48.

In the loss to UCCS, Stamer shot 11-18 for 31 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, blocked 3 shots and tallied 4 steals. In the victory at Regis, Stamer finished with his 8 th double-double of the season, pouring in 23 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, in addition to 3 more blocks and 3 steals - all of which were game-highs. Over the weekend he shot 53 percent, combining for 53 points, 19 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 blocked shots and 7 steals.

On the year Stamer ranks 1 st in the RMAC with 9.9 rebounds per game, 1 st with 2.18 steals per game and fifth with 18.9 points per game.
