Bear Creek grad receives Gold Glove award

Justin Hensley, graduate of Bear Creek High School, was awarded the Gold Glove award for NJCAA Division II baseball. Hensley, the catcher for Scottsdale Community College, helped his team to a third place finish in the NJCAA World Series in Tennessee. Hensley posted a .997 fielding percentage behind the plate during the SCC season. He had 343 putouts, 45 assists, and threw out 44 percent of runners trying to steal. He was also named the MVP of the two previous tournaments to get to the World Series. Justin will be playing for the San Luis Obispo Blues this summer.
