Schiechl named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week
GOLDEN, Colo. (Oct. 8, 2007) - Colorado School of Mines'
Marc Schiechl has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Saturday, October 6 th, as announced today by the RMAC.
Schiechl, a 6'3", 235-lb. redshirt freshman defensive end from
Lakewood, Colo. (Bear Creek High School), recorded seven total tackles - including five solo - and established a new individual single-game school record with 4.0 sacks in the Orediggers' 28-0 victory at New Mexico Highlands University on October 6 th. Schiechl also registered 4.5 tackles for a loss as Colorado School of Mines posted its first shutout of the 2007 campaign.
For the season, Schiechl leads CSM in tackles for a loss (8.0) and sacks (7.5).
