Brian Stamer
had another monster weekend for the Cougars, posting back-to-back double-doubles and earning his second straight and fifth overall RMAC Player of the Week Award for 2007-08.
In a 76-62 home win over Chadron, Stamer fell just one block shy of his first ever triple double, as the 6'7" all-American poured in 19 points, 12 rebounds and an incredible nine blocked shots.
The following night, Stamer almost single handedly willed the Cougars to a win over the University of Nebraska-Kearney, when he exploded for 26 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and two more blocked shots in a 68-75 home loss.
On the weekend, Brian shot 53%, while averaging 22.5 points, 12 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game.
The Cougars can lock up their first ever RMAC East Division championship with a win over Metro State Feb. 19 at the Auraria Event Center in Denver.
