Megan Johnson comes in second in distance race

(Feb. 11)  The Mountaineers also had some impressive performances on the women's side by a pair of distance runners.

Former Green Mountain student, Megan Johnson finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:30.38 and Natalie Provost finished second in the 3,000 at 10:49.71.Holly Braasch finished third in the Long Jump (16-04) and fourth in the Triple Jump (35-02). Braasch's mark in the triple is tied for the 10th best in WSC history.

Western State freshman Mallory Thompson set the school's
Pole Vault record at the Colorado School of Mines All-Comers meet Saturday in Golden.

Thompson cleared 11-0 to break the previous school record of 10-08 set by Tessa Carlson last year. Thompson finished second in the event to Colorado State's Ashleigh Morton who cleared 11-06.

For the Western men, Ryan Adragna recorded a career-best in the High Jump and won the event with a leap of 6-06. The jump is the eighth best in school history.

Josh Oberleas finished second in the Pole Vault at 15-09 and teammate Chris Johnston was fourth at 14-03. In the Triple Jump, Kyle Maurer finished third with a jump of 42-10.5.
