Spring sports have sprung
Contributed by: David Harvey on 3/9/2008

This weekend is the opening of Spring sports for area High Schools. Friday afternoon at Jeffco Stadium was the first track event of this season. It was a cool event and was a good opener for track. Some of the schools in attendance were Bear Creek, Columbine, Lakewood and Arvada West. Saturday was another track event out in Elizabeth and it would appear that some athletes were held in reserve for that event.

On Saturday the "Boys of Spring" got together Bear Creek "Bears" went to play the Northglenn "Norse". The "Bears" didn't fair so well finishing the game in five innings the were defeated by Northglenn 12 to 2. Errors were in abundance and missed opportunities plagued the "Bears" all game long.
