Windjammer Invitational took place on April 5 at Englewood High School where it has taken place for the last 26 years. Before that it was called the Englewood Invitational.

This was a closing of an era for this was the last Windjammer for Randy Penn. He is retiring from Englewood High School after thirty-five years; he has been the organizer of this event almost since he started at the school. In the sports arena of high school sports he is known as "Mr. Sports". Not only his school but also the sports community will sadly miss him.

The Windjammer starts early and ends late, with a wide variety of schools competing some from a multitude of districts, Englewood, Denver, Arapahoe, Jefferson just to mention a few. This meet beside the late start ran smoothly as always. It showcases athletes from the whole metro area and is a great place to get to see all the talent.
