Rollin’ Rockies seek head coach

Colorado's only wheelchair softball team - the Rollin' Rockies, is looking for a head coach to help guide the team in the 2009 season. The team is looking for an experienced baseball/softball player or coach who is knowledgeable in the fundamentals of the game and who can offer instruction. Wheelchair softball follows the same rules as set forth by the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) with a few exceptions geared toward the wheelchair. Homeruns and double-plays are as much a part of wheelchair softball as they are in the able-bodied version of the sport.

The team plans to conduct weekly practices on Thursday evenings at Jason Jennings Adaptive Field in Lakewood and will host several games throughout the summer. This non-paid position is highly rewarding and will offer several networking opportunities with local and state agencies including the Colorado Rockies MLB franchise.
