Blog Entry 43 of 44 Welcome to The Retroplex
I'm usually in full-blown reminisce mode anyway, so why not make the rest of you poor saps suffer along with me, right?

Here, you'll find no shortage (well...unless I can't think of any new material) of meaningless but ultimately harmless bits of ephemera covering the past 20 or so years of pop culture, and my occasional interactions with it. Whether you're into the iconic or the ironic, sooner or later, I'll probably get around to it.
Watch, as the hilarity ensues! Or, if you prefer, gawk like a shocked passerby witnessing a horrible accident!

Talkin' 'Bout My Generation

Well, to begin with, my generation is quite likely not to identify with songs by The Who, so perhaps this was a foolish title.

Nevertheless, it's been awhile since I've checked into The Retroplex, but I had a brief, shining moment of creativity a few moments ago. This moment quickly passed, however, and as such, I'll simply be linking to other people's superior work, and acting as if their thoughts were my very own.

So, without further ado, allow me to assure you that you're one of my peeps if you can even remotely understand or relate to the following sentence, swiped from one of the long-standing nerd-for-alls of the Internets - X-Entertainment:

The "abrupt bad ending" was the worst thing that could happen to a CYOA reader. It was like walking into a Goomba on Level 1-1.

Talk about your pure joy, here...

You've got your "Choose Your Own Adventure" reference mixed with a Super Mario Brothers reference. Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot.

As such, I'll simply leave you with a few links that might help to provide additional insight into the formative events and activities of the late-20, early-30-somethings you see stumbling through life around you.

Choose Your Own Adventure! - X-Entertainment

Classic99 - the Ti99/4A emulator! Play Parsec!

Virtual NES - enough said. Go now!

The 80s TV Themes Supersite - Dying to hear the opening from Hardcastle & McCormick? Done.

Hasbro's MonkeyBarTV - courtesy of the cool kids from Pawtucket, you can now watch old-school GI Joe and Transformers cartoons...online.

'Til next time, kids.

Days of my life have been spent playing Baseball Simulator 1.000 and Super Dodgeball on Virtual NES. I can still smell the video store where I used to rent those.

That's right baby! The Who, that's MY generation!
