Individual/Small Business Accounting & Tax Tips
A blog dedicated to individual and small/micro business accounting and tax tips. According to Wikipedia - A small business may be defined as a business with a small number of employees. The legal definition of “small” often varies by country and industry, but is generally under 100 employees in the United States. There is another segment of business that is smaller than small business - the micro business. Again, the definition probably varies by country and industry. We define a micro business as having fewer than 10 employees. To a micro business, a business with 100 employees can appear to be anything but a small business. Micro businesses are typically the businesses that generally have little to no access to the commercial banking sector and have trouble affording good advisors in the accounting, tax, and/or legal industries. The terms “mom and pop business” and “SoHo’s” (small office/home office) are common terms used for this sector. Warrior Accounting and Consulting (www.warrioracs.com) is striving to be a trusted advisor to the micro business community by providing affordable accounting, tax, and consulting assistance.

The House of Representatives approved the 2007 AMT fix. The Senate has already approved it and President Bush backs it.
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson stated "The IRS is doing all it can to have a fully successful filing season. However, it is likely that there will be some delays, including delays of some refunds. The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service will do everything possible to keep American taxpayers informed throughout the course of the upcoming filing season."
