Blog Entry 2 of 2 Let Us Clear The Air
My name is Dallas Collins, and I am a community member. I have raised three children in Littleton, and have two grandchildren. My husband and myself have been homeowners here for over 20 years. We have known about radon in Colorado for a long time, but because you can't see it or smell it, it wasn't on our priority list. This year I had a conversation with a man that suggested I do a little on-line research about Radon and it's long term effects. After I got over feeling bad, knowing that I should have done something about it while my children were growing up, and spending a lot of their time in our basements. I decided to go to school and become Precise Radon Testing Labs. I will use this blog to help keep our community informed on new equipment for testing radon. When the laws change in regards to radon, and offer my testing services to families who want professional testing for radon exposures in their home. Precise Radon has top of the line testing equipment, and a full service lab. Testing for radon is not expensive, we charge $89.00, with same day lab report. Spooky gas not so spooky

Why should I test for Radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes all over the United States. It comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breath. Radon typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Radon can also enter your home through well water. Your home can trap radon inside.

Any home can have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements. In fact you and your family are most likely to get your greatest radiation exposure at home. That is where you spend most of your time.

Nearly one out of ever 15 homes in the United States is estimated to have an elevated radon level (4pCi/L or more). Elevated levels of radon gas have been found in homes in your state. Contact your state radon office for information about radon in your area.*
