May is almost over and more and more calls come in about individuals and families who cannot get the help they need any other place. Our funds are getting low again and very few donations come in this time of year. Donations of any amount make a difference and as you can see by the cases listed below, the needs are great.
The one time help that Helping Hearts and Hands can give makes a huge difference. We continue to give 100% of the funds we receive from you to people in need. Already 289 families have asked for our help this year.
Any questions, give me a call at 303-936-9043.

Case # 6253
Sometimes it doesn't seem possible that so much bad luck and so many problems happen to one family. Barbara and her husband Jack have three children and have been barely able to make ends meet. Barbara's employer was having a hard time and she took a $5/hour cut in pay in order to keep her job. The company finally went under and she became unemployed. Barbara then discovered she had to have surgery. Meanwhile, Jack was forced to leave home because of abuse allegations and had to pay for other living arrangements. He was cleared of the abuse charge, but still had to pay the other bills. They are about to have their utilities shut off and can't meet their $600 rent for this month.
Case 6254
Mr. and Mrs. Morton are retired. He was a very active volunteer with the community until he was diagnosed with cancer. He is going into the hospital for brain surgery in two weeks, but his biggest worry is that he hasn't been able to pay his water bill of $355.63. The water will be turned off if the bill isn't paid. Their income of $705.00 per month is just not covering everything now that he has to pay for extra medications.
Case 6261
Margaret is 36 years old and has struggled with mental illness all of her life. She along with her two children, John and Harriet, ended up homeless when she lost her job and was unable to cope with a battering man. She is now receiving help and is ready to move into an apartment. She needs $250.00 to get started again and provide her children with a safe place to live.
Case 6263
Steve is 59 years old and disabled. He has applied for social security, which takes months to get. He does receive Aid to Needy Disabled (AND) which gives him $200 a month on which to live on. He has been accepted for subsidized housing - which will charge him $60 a month - but he needs $100 for a deposit.
What a difference your help would make for Steve, Margaret, Barbara, Jack, the Mortons and others like them. To make a donation, please send your check to Helping Hearts and Hands, 3805 Marshall Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Thank you.
(FYI it has been brought to our attention that designating donations to certain individuals may preclude their eligibility for a tax deduction. However, the "expression of a desire" for the donation to benefit a particular individual or case may not preclude the deduction. We will respect your stated desires to help particular individuals and cases, with the understanding that once a financial goal for a case is realized, we will use your contribution to assist other individuals or families in need.)
