Blog Entry 5 of 45 Random Neural Firings
A data dump of whatever happens to be on my mind at the moment. So fasten your safety belts and clench your buttocks, this is going to be a bumpy ride! I'm a mild-mannered scientist by day, and a raving lunatic at night - and I just might be your neighbor! I grew up (though some say I haven't) in Deer Creek Canyon, in the old Glen Plym Ranch homestead next to What's now known as Deer Creek Mesa. Weekdays I commute to the University of Denver, where I work in atmospheric physics. Weekends I mostly spend trying to remodel the old homestead without ruining its historic character. Seeing as it's made of stone, that would actually be hard to do. Why I'm here, I'm not really sure... Okay, now that I have your attention...

Seriously, though, it seems like the only way to get people interested in and responding to what you say is to say something really controversial. Like, if I were to advocate that not only should recreational drugs be legalized, but that they should be dispensed free of charge in our nation's grade schools, I bet I'd get lots of attention. Up to and including death threats, no doubt. Now, I don't really advocate this; for one thing our CSAP scores are dismal enough...

So anyway, if I really want to get lots of readers and attention, I should probably post some of my more controversial political views, such as bicycling should be outlawed on all non-residential roads that have less than three feet of paved shoulders. It would garner more interest than talking about my personal life, especially as my personal life is likely more boring than most...

The problem is, I'm not really into arguing politics because all it does is frustrate everybody and no one changes their opinions anyway. So sorry everyone, I guess you're just stuck with me babbling about my personal life, boring or not. I'll at least try not to bore you all with "cute" (to me anyway) stories about my kitties. Maybe I'll bore you with cute little stories about my niece instead...

No, I won't do that either. I'll leave that up to my brother, should he ever start blogging here. But this leaves me with a little bit of a dilemma - what, then, should I bore you about? Suggestions are welcome...

Bravo, Kevin. Insert comment about abortion, war or Jay Bennish here. Sometimes people just want to read about real people.
