If you had a neighbor that arbitrarily decided not to mow his lawn, stop watering, and let all his landscaping plants and junipers bushes dienext to your property line, whilespending thousands of dollars on the other sideof his propertyto plant, mow, water, and maintain a beautiful landscape, would you tell him to spend the same amount on both sides of his property, or would you ignore it and let your property value decline? This is exactly what the Master Association and Metropolitan District are doing in 12 locations in Ken Caryl. That's right, 12 locations in Ken Caryl will have their water shut off by the MD & MA Boards! Is your entranceway / green space one of them?! Shhh! It's a secret - no one at the MD/MA Board wants you to know.
One of these areas is the grass and planting beds that borders the entrance to Shaffer Hill / Stratford Farms (intersection of Mountain Willow and Blue Sage in the Valley). For 5 years now,
Alan Rogers and the MD/MA Boards have refused repeated requests to re-plant the dying juniper bushes and REFUSED to allow the residents to plant trees or other junipers to replace them (At no cost to the District or the MA)!During this same period, the MD/MA Boards have spentthousands of dollars at the Ranch House, the Sledding Hill, and attheintersection of Valley Parkway and MountainWillow, to name a few of the many projects funded while basic maintenance was ignored in other areas. Meanwhile, residents of Shaffer Hill have repeatedly offered to donate funds to replace the landscaping, only to have their requests be ignored!
Do you wonder why the dead austrian pine at Blue Sage & Mountain Willow has not been replaced? The MA / MD boards have repeatedly refused to replace it and denied permission for local residents to replace it. Does this sound like an a Homeowner's Association that tries to solve problems, or create them!Ithought the MA & MD Boards represented us, the homeowners, and were responsive to us. It seems they believe the have the power to pick and choose which of their pet projects they fund and those they don't care about never get a chance - even if the funding is donated! Is this how you think your tax / dues should be spent? This is another example of an HOA out of control. Remember the "We won't plow the sidewalks" fiasco? Oh, and they cleverly decided to increase our HOA dues during the election, but somehow, they didn't mention this when they were promoting the tax increase!
Don't give these petty tyrants another dime of your money until they learn to respect and respond to those they are supposed to serve, the homeowners of Ken-Caryl! Until the Master Association and the Metropolitan Districtact in the best interests of the residents of Ken Caryl, not just their pet projects and special interests, do not condone their arbitrary, capricious and irresponsible behavior - vote no on A & B in the upcoming election, or it may be your landscaping they decide to kill next.
