Sound off: Vote for Stuart Macdonald
Contributed by: Carol Carlson on 4/14/2008

Dear Editor

Stuart Macdonald is running for a seat on the Ken-Caryl Metropolitan District (KCRMD) board. This is good news indeed for residents of this community. Stuart was appointed to the board in January to complete the term of Bill Kamsler who relocated before the end of his term. Right after his appointment, Stuart hit the ground running and is proving himself to be an incredible asset to Ken Caryl Ranch. He immediately focused on critical budget issues and tackled controversial local concerns. This is not surprising since Stuart has a long history of community involvement.

Stuart has been attending most of the Ken-Caryl Master Association (KCRMA) and KCRMD Board meetings since 1999, not many of us can say the same. He worked on the KCRMD's Field allocation committee and coaches his children's teams. He is an advocate for equitable use of our sports fields and continually promotes ideas for better use of existing fields.

Stuart's community resume is very impressive and includes work trying to find common ground on the KCRMD's Valley Park committee and a variety of projects coordinating with the County and local businesses. We have Stuart and his group to thank for the Equestrian signal that now allows for safe horse and pedestrian crossing while minimizing the impact on Valley Parkway traffic.
He has an understanding and appreciation of the responsibilities of the KCRMD and KCRMA organizations and more importantly, the reasoning behind such. The more I have gotten to know him, the more impressed I am with his passion, intelligence, and commitment to our community.

Vote for Stuart Macdonald for the KCRMD board on May 6
