Droppings: Grillz, weird babies and smart robots
Contributed by: Dot   on 7/12/2006

Well how the heck are you, World Wide Web? Ready for some droppings? Well too bad, here they are anyway:

What's next, a robot that plays Dungeons and Dragons?
A Rubik's cube-solving robot is impressive and, for those of us who read science fiction, terrifying. It's only a matter of time until androids are walking among us, doing all the other things that nerds do. You should check for wires on the next guy who sells you a comic book or fixes your laptop.

Paper clip = house? Where do I sign up?
This has been all over the wire, but I thought you should read it anyway. This guy starts with a red paper clip, and through a series of escalating trades, gets a house. Best part? The big break was given to him by none other than Corbin Bernsen. You read that right, Mr. LA Law himself is looking out for the little guy.

Use your space bar to identify songs
Have you ever tried to identify a song that you only knew as 'doo-doo-doo-da, doo-doo-doo-da?' Well now you can tap the melody of a song on your space bar, and this site identifies it for you. That simple. It's great for dogs, because it just requires one broad button (it takes me four hours of work with a pencil between my teeth just to write this blog). So far, it's been successful with Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega and Danke Schoen by Wayne Newton, but unsuccessful on the Super Mario Brothers theme and Road to Nowhere by the Talking Heads. You win some, you lose some, I suppose.

Leave your grillz at home
Texas school district limits students' constitutional right to look like idiots in public.

It was a dark and stormy contest...
The best of the worst opening sentences has been crowned. And it involves burritos.

And now, Possibly the Weirdest Six Seconds Of Your Life You Will Never Get Back, courtesy of some street performer in Barcelona. Creepy and weird.
