I'm usually in full-blown reminisce mode anyway, so why not make the rest of you poor saps suffer along with me, right?

Here, you'll find no shortage (well...unless I can't think of any new material) of meaningless but ultimately harmless bits of ephemera covering the past 20 or so years of pop culture, and my occasional interactions with it. Whether you're into the iconic or the ironic, sooner or later, I'll probably get around to it.
Watch, as the hilarity ensues! Or, if you prefer, gawk like a shocked passerby witnessing a horrible accident!

Taste the memories...or at least the corn syrup

Today's brief jaunt back to the era of poofy hair, skinny ties, rolled up suit coat sleeves, and the endless dominance of all that was childhood by various and sundry arms of Hasbro involves a few items that you can pick up today - yes, right this minute - to impress your friends, and make them wish that they, too, were as relentlessly unwilling to move on with their own lives as are you.

First up? The 80s Candy Gift Pack. Now, sure, I could nit-pick; after all, there's a ton of stuff not included here that probably should be. Given the fact, however, that most of these items (Chewy Chalk, Bonkers, etc.) are no longer made, we'll cut the folks at GroovyCandies.com a little slack. They've done a pretty decent job of rounding up a fairly representative selection of 80s candies. Order one, or three, and have at it! Find yourself an ancient six pack of Like Cola (Brendan!) out on eBay, and after the hallucinations stop, you'll have yourself a complete 80s taste experience.

Next up? Continuing, in a manner of speaking, with the food theme, we've got a commercial for Burger King's "Burger Bundles" - three tiny lil' cheeseburgers for the crazy good price of $.99. Actually, I wanted to find the Evander Holyfield commercial for the more well-known Burger Buddies - basically the same thing, but with hamburgers in place of the cheeseburgers - but I struck out at all of my usual video sources. How, gentle readers, can you experience this deliciousness today? Well, head on over to your local Good Times, where they, too, are offering tiny burgers, and continuing the 80s resurgence I've so boldly and nerdily predicted.

Last up for today, a non food-related item: one of 80sTees.com's newest entries in their world-beating Karate Kid line. Sure - your personal tastes may not leave you inclined toward the surpassing superiority of The Karate Kid. If this is the case, you have my pity, but never fear; grab yourself any number of shirts from their collection, and you'll be stylin'. Personally, I'm leaning toward one of those radical new "All Valley Under-18 Karate Championship - '84" shirts, to commemorate Daniel-san's epic smooshing of Johnny, and the rest of his fellow Cobra Kai miscreants. But hey - that's just how cool I am. You might not be able to carry off the look.
