Blog Entry 12 of 32 Into the hills
I started working at YourHub.com in October of 2005. Lucky for me I actually live in the area I cover for YourHub.com, which makes me feel a little more in touch with my community and I hope to tell you what that is like and get some feedback. I’ll also let you know what’s going on with me and share some observations about whatever’s on my mind. I might also throw in a book review here or there, although I doubt it will be anything too earth shattering. My hope is to find some other reviewers out there, for books, restaurants, entertainment, etc... Enjoy!

Blizzard!

Dec. 21 always seems to turn out to be an exciting day for me ....

First off, December 21 is my little brother's birthday. Of course, he's not little anymore. Today, he turns 22. (Happy birthday, Nathan!). I really can't believe he's that old. Which makes me feel, well, even older! He came home from the hospital ChristmasEve in a big red stocking-- I kid you not. My mom still sets the stocking out every year.Nathan lives in Indiana, however, and doesn't have to deal with all the excitement of the snow today. I hear it's pretty warm out there right now.

December 21 also marks the date I got engaged to my husband, Brent. Four years ago today, Brent proposed to me while we were watching the movie Mr. Deeds and eating ice cream (it's a long story, but you can ask me about it sometime). So last night Brent and I watched Mr. Deeds again to commemorate the anniversary. My brother also was recovering from mono that day (yes on his birthday) -- he was a pretty big star on his high school basketball team and had to play a game that night. Brent and I went to the game to share the big news of our engagement with our family. I was so excited, but I remember watching my brother come out of the game to throw-up sevaral times, the poor guy -- but he eventually recovered.

This year, of course, its the blizzard ... The official measurement at the Zimmerman household in Litttleton was 27 inches as of 10 a.m. I don't think I've been in a blizzard this big before, as I was not a Colorado resident during the 2003 storm. Of course, its kind of fun to tell people you have to dig yourself out of your house -- as long as it only happens every so often.

I wonder what Dec. 21, 2007 will bring ...
