The Artwork and Life of Denver's Allen True Tour
Allen Tupper True was a Colorado-born illustrator specializing in Western and Native American themes when he became Denver's preeminent muralist painter. His notable and lasting works of art for the city of Denver can be found in the State Capitol, Brown Palace Hotel, Civic Center Park and the Colorado National Bank buildings to name just a few.
Participate in an extraordinary day-long exploration of the man and his artwork. The day will begin with an overview of the life and times of True. Then participants will embark on a bus tour highlighting True's lasting legacy to Denver. Scheduled stops include, the State Capitol, the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph building, Steele Elementary, South High School and Allen True's studio. Lunch will be at the Brown Palace Hotel.
Cost: $60 members, $75 nonmembers. Cost of tour includes bus transportation to and from Society, lunch, coffee and Danish, and all interpretation.Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 303-866-4686.
