Description:

Littleton, Colorado - A massive blow to his head left Charles Cozza of Littleton, with a serious brain injury and no known eye-witnesses to explain how it happened. All his wife and family are sure of is that Charles, Chuck to his friends, was buying supplies for his garage door business when he suffered a blow to his head and was found bleeding and unconscious in his truck near his supplier's warehouse.

Eight months later, in and out of intensive care, back and forth from University Hospital, a rehabilitation center, and now a health care center, the Cozza's have exhausted their health and disability insurance. In spite of set backs, Chuck is making slow progress, while wife Kim, and sons Michael and Anthony work to keep the family business going during the day, while helping Chuck with his physical therapy at night.

In an effort to help the Cozza family, Holy Trinity Church, church home for the Cozza's, is sponsoring a benefit evening, Thursday, November 9th, 5:30 to 8:30 at Holy Trinity Church, 6322 S. Lakeview St., Littleton. Donations will be taken at the door, or can be mailed directly to The Charles Cozza Fund, Heritage Bank, 2695 North Park Drive, Suite 101, Lafayette, Colorado, 80026.

Spokesperson for the Cozza family, Karen Taylor of Niwot, says the last eight months have been a huge strain on the family as they help Chuck come back from life-threatening complications while battling for his physical improvement on limited means.

"It's not easy to devote yourself to your husband's constant care, while driving a school bus during the day and dealing with legal issues at night," says Taylor, "but events and support like this benefit and fund gives Kim and her sons hope, which in itself is crucial to Chuck's recovery."
