Description:
ABWA is a national association over59 years in existence and comprised of a diverse group of women from entrepreneurs to those employed by others, stay-at-home moms, and some retired ladies as well. The age range is 20s to 60s in our chapter. We meet the
2nd Wednesday of each month (not every Wednesday); 6:15p.m., check
www.successabwa.org for location and program info.
It is a dinner meeting with a speaker on various topics from work-related to fun activities and things of interest in Denver (examples of presentations in the past: crucial conversations, dealing with stress, financial planning, investing, health issues, safety, skin care, life balance, feng shui, motivation, and numerous other topics mostly related to work and on topics that can apply to our work as well as personal life).
We participate in community activities, including helping with Mt. St. Vincent orphanage, Ronald McDonald House, Dress for Success and others (different charities each year).
A yearly national conference year and several spring conferences with ahost of seminars to attend provide great tools for you to develop personally and professionally. Check out
www.abwa.org for more information on the national association. National membership dues are $75; a subscription to "Women in Business" is included in the fees.
Local chapter fees are only $36/year (you must be a member of national to join a chapter). We would very much like to have you visit us anytime; there is no obligation to join. We just ask that you pay for your dinner and hope that you will feel that we meet a need in your life and that you will become a member.
Each year we select a Woman of the Year and a Top Ten for recognition. In 2005 and 2006, two of the Top Ten nominees of the United States were from Colorado. The 2004-2005 District VI National Vice President (western half of the United States) is a member of our Chapter. We offernetworking opportunities. Contact Robin Neal at
