Occupation: Assistant Director of the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center
Hometown: Centennial

Favorite local place to hang out: At home with my family.

Favorite Web site:www.msnbc.msn.com
People who inspired you (and how): My three daughters. My former husband and I adopted them when they were young. And despite the challenges that they had endured before they came into my life, they've shown me time and time again the value of perseverance and the value of a loving family. Life has not always been easy for them, but I'm more proud of them every day.
How you have contributed to the community: I've been active in the area for more than three decades but I'm most proud of serving 8 years on the Littleton School Board as well as founding and serving as a co-chair of the Greater Littleton Youth Initiative.
What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: Without a doubt the economy is the biggest issue facing our community. This is an area of difference with my opponent, Spencer Swalm. I know that our families are feeling the financial squeeze with cost of gas, food and health care seemingly always on the rise. And the recent turmoil in the market has many of my neighbors nervous. I empathize with them. We need real change. At the Capitol, I will fight for responsible solutions that will keep our families strong. But my opponent doesn't get it. On Oct. 1, two days after the stock market plunged 778 points, he told the South Metro Chamber of Commerce that he believes Coloradans are better off than we were eight years ago. If he doesn't get that there's a problem, how can we trust him to work for a solution.
I will fight for pragmatic solutions that will push us toward energy independence and make health care affordable for all Coloradans. That's start of the path to protecting our middle class families.
