Family: Wife of 29 years: Marleen, RN and proud owner of Colorado Pioneer license plates.
Son: Byron, who serves on the Navy submarine USS Nebraska, based on Puget Sound. Daughter: Lauren, who is married to Marine reservist Haden Barkley and is a senior nursing student at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.
Daughter: Jocelyn, a business major and sophomore at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA.
Occupation: Small business owner who helps other employers find affordable health insurance for their employees. Affordable health insurance has been my top issue at the Capitol.
Hometown: Centennial; Colorado native.

People who inspired you (and how): My father, Paul Swalm, who was a successful small business owner, served in the Colorado House of Representatives, and on the Denver City Council. I sit in the same desk on the House floor that my father sat in 30 years ago! He was a principled conservative who is still widely respected and known more than 10 years after his death.
How you have contributed to the community: Service in House of Representatives, active with Boy Scouts and our church. I am a seven gallon Bonfils blood donor. Raising kids who are solid citizens.
What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: Affordable health insurance; affordable domestic gasoline.
