What I do: Represent Lakewood in the State Senate
My favorite place in town to hang out: Belmar or 240 Union
What I like most about living here: Lakewood's great community spirit; close access to the arts community in the metro area, as well as the mountains; unsurpassed weather
My interests and hobbies: public policy, knitting and Bargello, singing, watching soccer
My favorite thing to cook:Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Eve Smorgasbord
People who inspire me (and how):Eleanor Roosevelt - She was a great champion for the underdog and for women.
How I have contributed to the community: 8 years of service in the Legislature, Community Boards of Directors - Jeffco Action Center, Lutheran Family Services of Colorado, Lakewood AAUW (former President), Citizens for Lakewood's Future, community volunteer, fund-raiser for Metro Area Human Service Agencies
The biggest issues facing us now: family and community economic stability, need for affordable, accessible healthcare, continuing to grow our new energy economy
Why I am running: to continue to serve the citizens of Lakewood and to use my experience to provide leadership in assuring a vibrant and healthy (in the broadest sense of the word) community
