APPLICATONS CURRENTLY BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2008-09 YLJC CLASS

LAKEWOOD, CO - Applications are currently being accepted, up to April 18, 2008, for the 2008-09 YouthLeadershipJeffersonCounty (YLJC) class.

Youth Leadership Jefferson County (YLJC) is an innovative program designed to develop the leadership potential of high school students who live in or attend schools in Jefferson County. This program gives students a chance to interact with community leaders and institutions, explore career and educational options, experience leadership through hands-on activities and broaden their perspectives on a variety of community issues. The program focuses a different aspect of the community during full day, monthly sessions (September through May). Each program day highlights a leadership concept and is designed to provide real world experiences through multiple approaches.

Youth Leadership Jefferson County is a program of the West ChamberServingJeffersonCounty Foundation and is supported primarily by a grant from The Jefferson Foundation and by other grants, business sponsorships, and individual donations.

The cost of the program is $100 per participant (need based scholarships are available).
