Of course, Santa makes his home in the North Pole, but one of his newest assistants, Saxophone Santa and his wife, Mrs. Santa, have just completedacourse in Santa Clausology given by the International School for Santa. The Classes, held in Golden, attracted approximately fifteen aspiring Santas from several states, but only Saxophone Santa hails from Littleton.
The wide-ranging class included the history of St. Nicholas and the evolution of the Red Suit.
(Do you know the difference between the CocoCola Santa Suit and the Pepsi Cola Santa Suit? See the answer below!). Students learned how to spot a wet baby coming your way, how to turn on Rudolph's red nose, and
how many presents fit in Santa's bag. The emphasis is always on integrity, and keeping the magic in Christmas.
Ever since John Ziegler started growing his beard several years ago, he has been told he should be Santa Claus. Now he is ready, along with wife Barbara, to create holiday memories for children of all ages. With saxophone sing-alongs, silly Christmas jokes, inspiring stories and a little magic, John and Barbara will be available to schools, special events, private parties and very special Christmas Eve visits.
And the North Pole? Well, it's a nice place to visit. But this Santa prefers the friendlier climate of Littleton!
*Answer to the Santa Suit question: The Coca Cola Suit, introduced in Coke ads in 1930, had no vertical white fur down the front of the coat. Coke did, however, popularize the jolly round shape. Pepsi added that extra white fur in a later ad.
