Our mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrome through education and information, research and support for individuals with Angelman Syndrome, their families, and other concerned parties. Angelman Syndrome has confounded and confused the medical community and parents of Angelman individuals for hundreds of years. Initially presumed to be rare, it is now believed thousands of Angelman Syndrome cases have gone undiagnosed or misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy, autism or other childhood disorders.
This amazing event brings together families, friends, and members of the medical community to raise the much needed funds that will continue to grow our understanding of this neuro-genetic disorder.
Jake from Littleton, Colorado will participate in the walkathon.
In 2008, 397 walkers participated supporting 47 individuals with Angelman Syndrome from 10 states; raising $45,385. The 2009 ASF/Denver Walkathon will take place Saturday May 16, 2009 at the Adams County Regional Park (9755 Henderson Road, Brighton, CO 80601). The walk is 1.3 miles around the lake at the park. Registration begins at 8:30am and the walk starts at 9:30am with introductions of the individuals with Angelman Syndrome prior to walking. For further info. go to:
