Martin Percival and The Martin Percival School of Irish Dance is excited and pleased to announce the school's first annual "feis", or Irish Dance competition, called "Oktoberfeis" to be held at the Tivoli Student Union in downtown Denver, October 3 rd and 4 th, 2008. This two-day dance competition will be attended by over 600 competitors and guests from Colorado and surrounding regions and will feature beginning competitors to world class champions.

"We are so proud to host this very special event and are working hard to make it a premier venue for competitors and spectators for years to come," states Martin Percival. Percival, national and international dancing champion and internationally acclaimed performer (Lord of the Dance, Riverdance), opened his studio doors in Colorado in 2003 with locations in Boulder, Castle Rock, Dacono, Littleton, Longmont, South Aurora and Wheat Ridge. Additionally, Percival recently opened a school in Las Vegas, Nevada. The school teaches over 180 students and has produced regional, national and world champion level dancers. But, as Percival iterates, "Irish Dance is for everyone - from 5 to 95 - and includes all levels of ability from beginner to champion. Its not how well you dance, but that you dance!"

The finale for the event will take place Saturday evening at the 2 nd Annual "October Ceili Mor" which is a traditional Celtic celebration that includes music, dance, song and participation by everyone - experience is not a requirement - having fun is! The festivities will include a parade of champions lead in procession by the Emerald Society Pipe Band, performances, ceili dancing, silent auction and much more. Both events are open to the public as all are welcome.
