Headwaters Bible Institute opens

Pastors David and Deidra Thompson will host the first semester of Headwaters Bible Institute (HBI) at Activation Ministries Center, 166 S. Lookout Mountain Road in Golden, beginning Jan. 7. Anyone is welcome to attend and may call today to register at 303-670-1319. The first session will have a make-up program as necessary.

HBI offers challenging, foundational studies through a curriculum of 10-week courses presented in the academic quarter system. First-year students will learn how to study the Bible, the attributes of God and the work He is doing in their lives and the lives of those around them.

Second-year students will explore the Old and New Testaments of the Bible to study and experience how the Holy Spirit breathes life into spiritual truths. The goal is to activate each student to fulfilling the specific destiny God intended for them through Jesus Christ when they were created.

Subsequent years of study provide students desiring to enter full-time ministry specialized training appropriate to their specific calling of pastor, teacher, prophet, apostle, missionary, evangelist or worship leader.

HBI has been created to educate and equip anyone eager to learn more about the Christian faith, regardless of their spiritual maturity. Attending HBI will help students understand God's truth to establish a solid foundation in their lives.

The Thompsons' vision is to see the love of God and Scriptural truths transform the seven spheres of society which they identify as government, economy, media, the arts, family, religion and education. They believe HBI will equip those who feel called into full-time ministry as well as lay people who want to be better grounded in Biblical truth and Christian beliefs so they can help transform their world. The HBI curriculum will educate each student to enable them to reach these goals.

Dr. Russ Frase, founder and president of Joshua Nations has established Bible schools in Cuba, Pakistan, Ghana and Columbia. He will act as Dean at Large, providing oversight and counsel for HBI and serve as guest teacher.

Dr Terry Young, Professor and Head of the Department of Geophysics at Colorado School of Mines, will act as Dean of Administrative and Academic Affairs. He will also teach two hours of each class on Discovering the Heart of God (Systematic Theology from a Charismatic Perspective). Another one hour of each class will focus on Prophetic Keys to Unlocking the Kingdom Within You (Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts).

Cost for 30 hours of instruction is $175 plus the cost of textbooks.
