Restaurateurs and musicians from Littleton are scheduled to take the stage Saturday at the 26 th annual A Taste of Colorado. The four-day, free admission, food, music, and entertainment Festival takes place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 through Sept. 7, in Downtown Denver's Civic Center Park.
Mike and Janet Johnson of Littleton's Savory Spice Shop will prepare Jamaican jerk chicken and grilled pineapple & avocado dip at noon on The Culinary Showcase presented by 630 KHOW stage.
The shop offers more than 140 freshly-ground seasonings that are original recipes and hand-blended on-site in Littleton.
The Branders, with a sound reminiscent of The Wreckers, Sugarland, and Miranda Lambert, play at 2:55 p.m. Saturday on the Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que Country Stage presented by 98.5 KYGO. The band was crowned the winner of the 2008 KYGO and Denver Metro Colgate Country Showdown.
As the state's largest free-admission outdoor event, A Taste of Colorado draws more than 500,000 visitors annually. Six entertainment stages include national, local, and ethnic music in a variety of genres, children's performers, and much more. Festivalgoers also can try a variety of culinary delights from more than 50 of Colorado's favorite food establishments, including a fine dining area and culinary showcase. Plus, visitors can enjoy the offerings of more than 250 marketplace artisans and vendors, as well as educational programs promoting the diverse cultural and Western heritage of the region.
