Carpenter's Stitch in Time Saves Lives

A couple of months ago, a friend of Hands of The Carpenter who was bringing a meal to a co-worker realized she had a real need. Her friend was a single mom of 2 children who just had surgery and would be home bound for several weeks.

Several months prior, her furnace had stopped working completely. Not having anyone around to help or the resources to get the furnace fixed, she plugged in several space heaters in an effort to keep many of the rooms heated during the winter. When HoTC was called regarding the need, we contacted one of our HVAC contractors who made the arrangements and soon repaired the faulty furnace.

After having read that story, you may be wondering what's so special about it. First of all, it's a picture of the exact reason Hands of The Carpenter exists and how they serve. Second, it may have saved their lives. Only two days after the repair was made, several Denver news stations reported that the daughter of a single mom elsewhere in Denver was found dead after a fire which was started by space heaters being used to heat that home.

Hands of the Carpenter continues to make a difference in the lives of single parents, widows and orphans who have no one else to turn to for this very real and practical assistance.
