Ask Dot: South Platte Park
Contributed by: Dot the Dog on 8/16/2007

To the west of the Platte River, north of C-470, right next to the new reservoir is a small park of some sort. With the creation of the new reservoir, it seems that access to park has been eliminated.
What's the story?

- Ed Lambert, Centennial

Ed:

Excellent question. Indeed, with the ongoing construction of the South Platte Reservoir, access to the entrance of South Platte Park has been cut off. However, according to South Suburban Parks and Recreation community relations specialist Jean Flynn, people can still access South Platte Park via the main entrance, located at 3000 W. Carson Drive.

Flynn said the closed entrance of which you speak will be reopening, pending construction. She said the reservoir is near completion and the entrance should reopen by the end of September.
