Littleton Mayor
Jim Taylor
and supporters of ballot issue 2A are walking across Littleton in October to raise awareness of 2A, which asks voters to permanently remove the TABOR limit on City of Littleton revenues.
"We hope supporters of 2A will join us as we trek across Littleton," said Taylor. "We will walk across each district of the city."
Eighteen supporters carrying signs saying "Remove the Fiscal Handcuffs" and "Yes on 2A" walked along Federal Boulevard and Belleview on October 1.
On October 8 the walk will be in District 2, starting from Littleton High School. On October 15 the District 3 walk starts at Runyon Elementary school. The October 22 walk in District 4 begins at Heritage High School. All the walks start at 12:00 noon.
Proponents of 2A say removing the TABOR limit on city revenues will not increase any tax or take away the citizens' right to vote on future tax increases, but will allow the city to use excess revenue generated by growth.
Voters will decide the issue at the November 7 election.
Amy Conklin, Littleton councilmember, has developed a top10 list of reasons to vote for 2A. According to the list, a yes vote on 2A will keep Littleton's quality of life competitive, stretch tax dollars, and help the city maintain services such as funding for Omnibus, Shopping Cart, the museum and the library.

Rebecca and the other Littleton city council members pictured here were found to have violated the Fair Campaign Practices Act on Oct 6 2006 by Judge Robert Spencer. They have not accepted responsibility yet for the cost to the taxpayers. Visit them at the council meeting tue night OCT 17 to see if they do. You can also watch at the City of Littleton web site.
