The South Metro area has a great insurance resource with one of Colorado's largest Allstate agencies. Carol Bolanda has been the good hands scores of people have relied on to get back to normal after the hazards of living have caused a set back. She has served the Littleton / Highlands Ranch area for 21 years in two locations - with the current one being near the intersection of Highlands Ranch Parkway and Broadway.

The native of Milaca Minnesota was not thinking of a career in insurance back when she left the farm to start college. She was pursuing a career in education when she met her husband while attending St. Cloud State. She later transferred to University of Minnesota.

Her husband's job transfer to Littleton in 1980 turned into a bust that mirrored the economy at the time and Carol headed to Metropolitan State College of Denver to finish her education.

She received the Colorado Scholar Award and it was like a Godsend for the struggling family. "Awesome school...It was just a wonderful experience being able to finally get the degree while raising my two children!" Carol explains.

Aspen Labs hired her after graduation but it was an ad Allstate ran that grabbed her attention several months later and became the genesis of her small insurance empire. A lot of hard work and risk taking has the Bolanda Agency on solid ground and it may one day be in the hands of Jennifer Bolanda, Carol's oldest daughter. That is a fitting progression since Allstate has been listed as one of the top 100 companies for women over the past 10 years.

Helping people with correct coverage is not all she is passionate about...
