Every morning before CSAP testing began, a new visitor would make an appearance at Peiffer Elementary School.
Past visitors have included Av's hockey player Peter Forsberg, Mother Goose, Sgt. CSAP and the CSAP dragon.
"The kids just love it and crack up," said Ellen Fleer, Peiffer's enrollment secretary. "It helps them relax and not be uptight about taking the CSAP tests."
The woman behind the costume is Peiffer principal Robin Weikel.
"I stopped dressing up for one year and everybody missed it so much I brought it back," said Weikel.
Weikel raids the costume closet every year to get herself into character before she pops onto the school's in-classroom TV monitors to join the school's daily newscast.
The visitor of the day gives the students a CSAP pep talk.
"Even the little kindergarteners who aren't taking the CSAPs love to see who will show up on the TV in the morning," said Fleer.
Now the students have something positive to associate with the tests added Weikel.
