Student Heroes honors the best of south Jeffco Schools
Southwest Plaza is hosting the
5th annual
My Student My Hero event on Saturday, March 15th, 2008. The festivities begin at 11:30 A.M. with a performance by
Dakota Ridge High School's choral group under the direction of,
Greg Monsma. Superintendent of Schools,
Dr. Cynthia Stevenson, will present the honorees.
The Jefferson Foundation,
Columbine Courier and
Spicy Pickle Restaurant at Southwest Plaza are sponsoring partners for the celebration of some of south Jeffco's brightest future stars.
"My Student, My Hero honors south Jeffco students who are selected by their principals for their academic achievements, and service to their schools, churches, and community," said
Mona Sandoval, Executive Director of
The Jefferson Foundation. "This event recognizes teens who have made an impact in our neighborhoods and our schools,"
This year's young adults are top students with impressive scholastic credentials. They are active in a wide range of volunteer efforts, and several have had to overcome extraordinary personal challenges. The 2008 honorees include:
