Memorial Day in Littleton
Contributed by: Joe Leber on 6/14/2006

The members of VFW Pat Hannon Post 4666 and the American Legion George C. Evans Post 103 would like to thank the many people who supported our efforts on this very important holiday.

To all of you who supported our "Buddy Poppy Drive" and shared your fond memories, your personal stories and certainly your donations, we thank you.

To the Scouts and their leaders who came out Saturday morning before Memorial Day and placed flags marking the veterans' graves in Littleton Cemetery, we thank you.

To all of you early risers who joined us at Littleton Cemetery at 8 am, to the El Jebel Pipe Band, to the All Veterans Honor Guard, and to our bugler, we thank you.

To those attending the 10 am ceremony at the Littleton WWII Memorial, to the U S AIR FORCE, and again to our bugler and the All Veterans Honor Guard, we thank you.

To those attending the 11:30 am Chapel Hill services, we thank you.

Our intent was to make sure that Memorial Day was not just a long weekend, but rather a time to remember the price of freedom that so many have paid. And with your help, we did. Thank you.
