Knight earns Airborne Wings

Taylor Knight, Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) at San Diego State University, received his wings July 13 th upon completion of Airborne School at Ft. Benning, GA. Knight earned his slot at Airborne School by placing 4 th on the Order of Merit List (OML) at SDSU, a battalion of 120 cadets.

Knight has also been tapped as the Ranger Challenge Captain for the '07 season of preparation and competition. SDSU will compete with other ROTC programs in various events such as APFT (physical training test), land navigation course, patrolling test, M-16 marksmanship, hand grenade assault course, obstacle course, and a 10K road march. His Ranger Challenge team consists of 10 top cadets in the SDSU Army ROTC program. Knight will spend most of the fall semester training and preparing his team for this annual event.

Knight is expected to commission in May of 2009 as an active duty officer. Upon commissioning, he will be an Infantry officer and intends to apply for Ranger School.

He is the son of Mike and Pam Knight of Littleton. Knight is a 2005 graduate of Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, where he was Senior Class President.
