Jessica Bolen, daughter of David and Barbara Bolen of Littleton, Colo., and a 2004 graduate of Heritage High School in Littleton, graduated with distinction in psychology and summa cum laude at Colorado College in May.
Bolen received the Cornelia Manley Sabine Award in Psychology at Colorado College's annual Academic Honors Convocation, and was just named to the college's dean's list for the 2007-2008 academic year. Students are placed on the dean's list if they have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher while carrying a full class load for the academic year.
While at Colorado College, Bolen played the flute in the orchestra, a woodwind quintet and a flute choir, led an early morning tutoring program, and taught yoga classes. She will work as a bilingual elementary education teacher in New York City through Teach for America.
