DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SHOT OUT
Littleton police were sent to the 55000 block of South Delaware Street at 11:35 a.m. Nov. 9 on a report that someone had shot out the driver's side window of a car. A woman told police her husband was sitting in the passenger seat of the car in their driveway when he heard several pops and the driver's side window shattered. The husband noticed a white car speed away and chased the car on foot down South Delaware Street but could not catch it. The husband received some minor cuts on his face from the broken glass, but refused medical attention. He was unable to get the license plate number of the car.
REAR CAR WINDOW SHOT OUT
A woman told Littleton police someone shot out the rear window of her car while her baby was in the back while she was driving near the intersection of West Fair Avenue and South Broadway at 12:13 p.m. Nov. 19. The woman said she saw a white car speed away down South Broadway and said she thought there were three to four teens in the car.
POSSIBLE DRUG LAB FOUND
A woman called the Littleton Police Department at 10:58 a.m. Dec. 14 and told them that she had seen people come and go from a vacant apartment located below her apartment on the 5200 block of South Huron Way. The woman said the people entering the vacant apartment were also frequent visitors to an apartment directly across the hall from the vacant apartment. Sheriffs' deputies knocked on the door of the vacant apartment, but there was no answer. The deputies noticed the door was unlocked and entered the apartment. The deputies discovered a fire burning in the fireplace and several piles of trash, as well as some suitcases near the front door. The deputies went across the hall and spoke to several people in the apartment, including a tenant who told the deputies she lived there with her husband and stepson, and that her stepson might be keeping some of his things across the hall. The deputies determined the stepson was wanted on two outstanding warrants, one for dangerous drugs and another for forgery.
The deputies also discovered a man and a woman in the apartment who were wanted on outstanding warrants. The deputies returned to the vacant apartment and found a duffel bag with a gallon of Coleman camp fuel in it. The deputies also discovered a small red suitcase with coffee filters, antifreeze, a Pyrex pot and rubber tubing. The deputies determined there may have been a drug lab in the apartment and called in a Haz Mat team to inspect the area. The case remained under investigation by the detective division at the time of the report.
CITATION ISSUED FOR HARASSMENT
A man was issued a citation for phone harassment from Littleton police at 3:07 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Littleton police station. The man was involved in a theft case where the suspect had not been immediately jailed because he had agreed to help the South Metro Drug Task Force with some ongoing investigations. The man left an angry message on a detective's answering machine on Sept. 25, where he complained bitterly about the case and made rude comments. An officer explained to the man that the call was unproductive and he needed to stop. On Oct. 1 the man left two more messages on another Littleton police employee's phone where he swore and made disparaging comments against a female officer. The man was again contacted by police, who asked him to stop. The man left a fourth message on Nov. 12 where he sounded drunk. A Littleton police officer told the man he had been warned several times about the phone calls and issued the citation.
