SUSPICIOUS VISITORS REPORTED
On June 2, about 8:58 p.m., a resident of the 7200 block of West Walker Place reported a suspicious incident. The resident said two male came to his home between 5:30 and 6 p.m. and asked if he was a "nice person." The resident demanded to know what the men wanted and they left. They were described as a white man about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 150 pounds with short brown hair wearing a black trench coat and a while man about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, about 200 pounds with shoulder-length blond hair and wearing a maroon trench coat. The resident said he reported the incident due to recent burglaries in the area. No suspects were identified.
MAGPIE SHOOTERS WARNED
On May 28, about 5:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Manor House Road on report of two men with a firearm pointing out of a car. The deputy found the men and on investigating found they had permission from owner of the land to shoot at magpies with a pellet gun. The owner confirmed that magpies were doing damage and she had given permission for the men to shoot them. A deputy told all involved the birds were migratory and are not allowed to be hunted under federal law, and warned the men about county laws against use of firearms. No arrests were made.
BLOOD FOUND ON PATIO
A deputy investigated a blood splatter on a second-floor patio door reported by a resident of the 8300 block of South Independence street on May 31. The resident said he closed and locked the patio about 10 p.m. and noticed blood on the door and a small table. There was no evidence of an attempted break-in and the blood may have come from an animal, according to the report.
DOOR WINDOW BROKEN AT HOME
A resident of the 7600 block of West Grand Avenue reported a possible attempted burglary on May 31. The resident said she heard a loud noise about 2 a.m. and later in the day discovered someone had broken the rear glass door window. There were no suspects identified and no immediate estimate of damage.
MAN ARRESTED FOR PAN DESTRUCTION
Deputies arrested a Morrison man for criminal mischief and domestic violence June 3 after he allegedly destroyed a pan his wife had purchased the day before. The man said he was upset because his wife did not return the pan as he had asked and took it outside and destroyed it by beating in on bricks in his backyard, saying "I'm guilty of beating the hell out of my bricks." The man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
