Police blotter: Counterfeit bill passed at bar


Incidents reported by Littleton Police

On July 5, an officer investigated a stolen vehicle report. The owner said his 1999 Chevrolet S-10 truck had been stolen fro the rear of a business at 5194 South Lowell Boulevard and later recovered by police in Englewood. The truck had minor damage to the bumpers and a side door, according to the report. The loss was estimated at $1,000.

On July 6, a resident of the 1700 block of West Powers Avenue reported the theft of a mountain bicycle from an unlocked garage. The resident said the bicycle was stolen between 8:30 p.m. July 7 and 8:45 a.m. July 6. There was no immediate estimate of the bike's value.

On July 7, police received a report of a vehicle break-in on the 700 block of West Belleview Avenue. An Evergreen resident said sometime between 4 and 5 a.m., someone entered his 1995 Honda Civic and stole a cellphone valued at $90 and a wallet containing $300 and personal papers.

An officer investigated the passing of a counterfeit $20 bill on July 3 at the Toad Tavern, 5302 S. Federal Boulevard. The owner told an officer a doorman at the tavern had been given the counterfeit money the previous evening by one of the customers, but could not identify a suspect. The counterfeit bill was kept as evidence.
