Drugs, cash taken in SUV break-in. On Aug. 31, Littleton police investigated the break-in of a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero parked at a
Safeway, 181 W. Mineral Ave. in Littleton. The owner said she parked the vehicle about 4 p.m. and discovered a window broken out when she returned. A purse containing a wallet, $900 in cash, shoes, prescription drugs and makeup was stolen. The total loss was estimated in excess of $1,500, according to the report. Damage to the window was estimated at$300.
Backpack stolen in car break-in. Police received a report of a break-in of a 2001 Toyota Corolla parked at
Wynetka Ponds Park, 5801 S. Lowell Blvd. in Littleton, on Aug. 28. A woman reported she parked the car, owned by her boyfriend, on the northeast side of the park about 4:10 p.m. and discovered a window broken when she returned about 4:30 p.m. A backpack left on a seat was stolen, containing a wallet with personal papers, a crochet kit and wool knitted hat were stolen. The loss was estimated under $100. Damage to the car window was estimated at $300.
Officers respond to traffic pileup. A 57-year-old man was cited for careless driving Sept. 1 after he rear-ended another driver. The accident, which occurred at around 4:11 p.m. on the
2000 block of East Hampden Avenue in Cherry Hills Village, resulted in a three-car pileup. No injuries were reported.
Speeding driver nabbed. A 28-year-old man who was driving with a revoked license was caught speeding at around 6:53 a.m. Sept. 4 on the
1200 block of East Jefferson Avenue in Cherry Hills Village. The driver, who also had two active warrants out for his arrest, was doing 51 mph in a 35 mph zone. He was transported to Arapahoe County Jail for the warrants.
Police investigate money transaction. Two employees of a retail store were taken to the hospital Aug. 30 after handling cash that made their hands break out. The employees, who are cashiers at
Target, 6767 S. Clinton St. in Greenwood Village, told police they believe the incident stemmed from a suspicious woman who came through their line earlier in the day. They stated their hands started to burn after the woman -- who was wearing yellow rubber gloves -- handed them soggy dollar bills. The employees were treated at Centennial Health Plaza for the irritant.
