TRUCKS USED IN VEHICLE THEFTS
Littleton Police investigated the theft of vehicles from Brit Honda Powersports, 6235 S. Santa Fe Drive on Oct. 25. Officers found a security gate had been rammed open. Security video showed a U-Haul truck backed into the open gate just after midnight and at least three suspects loaded sport vehicles onto the larger truck. The vehicle left the area about 1:24 a.m. and returned to the scene about 2:18 a.m. several motorcycles were loaded on the truck, which was then driven south on South Santa Fe Drive. A rental vehicle from a nearby business at 4849 S. Santa Fe Drive was used in a similar burglary at the business about three weeks earlier, according to the report. An inventory of stolen vehicles was incomplete.
CHECK FRAUD THWARTED
Police investigated an attempted check fraud reported Oct. 20 by a resident. The woman said she was contacted ro allegedly provide nanny services by a person who claimed to be moving to Arvada who also wanted toys purchased for a child. After exchanging several e-mails, the woman received a check for $2,900. She contacted the bank in Buffalo, N.Y., and was told the account was fraudulent.
RACING BIKE STOLEN
Littleton Police investigated the theft of a racing bike valued at more than $4,500 from Littleton Cyclery, 2640 W. Belleview Ave. on Oct. 17. An officer discovered the front door of the business had been shattered with a piece of concrete jsut after 5 a.m. Surveillance video showed a suspect vehicle and two suspects. The investigation is continuing.
