ArapahoeCounty partners with Brothers Redevelopment to provide foreclosure prevention workshop April 16
Littleton, Colo. --- To combat the rise in foreclosures homeowners are experiencing throughout the Denver metro area, ArapahoeCounty will team with Brothers Redevelopmentto host a Foreclosure Prevention Workshop, 6:30-8:30 p.m., April 16 at the EnglewoodCivicCenter located at 1000 Englewood Parkway, easily accessible off the Light Rail.
Attendees will learn about the many important deadlines that occur during the foreclosure process, as well as the options available to homeowners facing foreclosure that can help them hold onto their homes or find another favorable outcome.
As an added benefit, housing counselors will be on hand to answer specific questions, schedule appointments and further assist the foreclosure prevention efforts of ArapahoeCounty residents.
In fall 2007, ArapahoeCounty allocated a $10,000 Community Development Block Grant
to Brothers Redevelopment in an effort to provide foreclosure prevention counseling for 50 clients and up to five reverse mortgage counseling sessions through May 31. Additionally, the County has allocated another $15,000 in CDBG funds for 2008-2009. The clients can be from ArapahoeCounty, excluding the City of Aurora, as Aurora has their own foreclosure prevention counseling program.
Established in 1971, Brothers Redevelopment is a metro area nonprofit that provides a variety of housing-related services for the region's residents. The agency also manages the Colorado Foreclosure Hotline (1-877-601-4673 or www.coloradoforeclosurehotline.org).
