MorningStar Senior Living and MacKenzie House Join Forces
to Bring Exceptional, Individualized Elder Care to Lakewood
LAKEWOOD, CO, July 22, 2008-MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care Residence at Applewood, a joint effort between MorningStar Senior Living and MacKenzie House, LLC, is pleased to announce its Grand Opening in July 2008. The new assisted living community, located at 2800 Youngfield Street in Lakewood, will host a Grand Opening Weekend July 25-27, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Guests will be able to tour the community, register to win prizes, enjoy a variety of chef-prepared refreshments and reserve their accommodations.
The community is designed to serve residents with a wide range of needs in a warm, residential-style environment. Studio, one- and two-bedroom suites are available, along with a variety of customizable services and amenities-including housekeeping, linen and personal laundry services, an emergency response system, chef-prepared meals, transportation and personal care plans for those who may need them. The community also offers a separate area for those living with Alzheimer's and dementia.
MorningStar Senior Living President and CEO, Ken Jaeger, has more than two decades of experience in the operation and management of senior living facilities, with a strong emphasis on compassionate care. "I wanted to re-create my grandmother's house," Jaeger said, "a place where one can go and feel a real sense of family rather than the isolation of an institution. MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care Residence at Applewood will combine engaging residential-style design, welcoming décor and gracious service to create a distinctive, deeply caring home for our residents."
Applewood residents will also enjoy a variety of appealing community amenities, including relaxing massage and spa rooms, a convenient on-site country store, a 20-seat movie theater, a 350-gallon saltwater aquarium, a beauty salon, a chapel and a tranquil sun patio with a grill and fireplace. Top-quality meals may be savored in the 1,500-square-foot dining and activity room or in the cozy after-hours bistro.
MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care Residence at Applewood is the second collaboration between MorningStar Senior Living and MacKenzie House. Their first- MorningStar Littleton Assisted Living, which opened in 2006-has been a resounding success, and is operating at nearly 100% capacity. The two companies are currently collaborating on three additional projects, including a senior living community in Cherry Creek (opening in September of 2009) as well as facilities in Belmar and Colorado Springs (opening in 2010).
Based in Englewood, Colorado, MorningStar Senior Living offers Independent, Assisted, & Memory Care Living Communities throughout the state of Colorado. The company is committed to providing professional, highly personalized care, with the goal of creating an inviting, familial environment for customers with a wide variety of needs.
