LITTLETON, CO --- The Arapahoe County Board of County Commissionershas votedto close the County's Administration Building and CentrePoint Plaza to the public on Nov. 4 General Election Day for all non election-related services.
Arapahoe County is closing two buildings - the Administration Building at 5334 S. Prince St., Littleton and CentrePoint Plaza, 14980 E. Alameda Dr., Aurora - to free up staff and parking in order to accommodate the anticipated heavy voter turnout for the election.
The Board's public hearing and study sessions also will be cancelled Nov. 4.
The Administration Building will serve as a drop-off site for mail-in ballots and CentrePoint Plaza will be a polling site for several precincts in Aurora. Both buildings will be open to the public for election-related services. Recording services also will be available at the Administration Building.
County employees will work as scheduled and may be called upon to help with election tasks if necessary, such as answering phones, directing citizens, etc.
All other County buildings will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 4 to the public as normal.
Because employees will be working late through the night, the County's motor vehicle offices in Littleton, Aurora and Centennial will reopen to the public at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5.
